Thomas R. Strange III
Member
Thomas grew up in the grading industry. He began his career working summers and after school in 1992. In 1997, he began to work full time, running equipment for numerous upstate projects. He worked his way from the ground up and is now currently a member at Collins Hammett Construction. Thomas resides in Travelers Rest with his wife Charli; together they have three children: Thomas R. Strange IV, Harper Strange, and Charlotte Strange.
Jeff Pittman
Chief Operating Officer
Jeff has over 23 years in the industry; 8 of those with Collins Hammett overseeing all daily operations. Jeff and his wife, Erica of 27 years have 1 daughter, Jacie. In his free time, Jeff enjoys all outdoor activities including hiking, boating, and snow/wake boarding.
Candace Lindsey
Project Manager
Candace has been a member of Collins Hammett Construction since 2022 and serves as Project Manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University; and has been in the construction industry over 25 years. She enjoys reading, traveling and time with her family and friends.
Cooper H. McIntyre
Estimator
Cooper is a 2019 graduate of The Citadel where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He has been a member of the Collins Hammett team since 2016. He and his wife, Emily, have three children: John Cooper, Jackson, and Hallie; and 2 dogs: Rex and Ruger. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Doug Poteat
Shop Manager
Doug oversees the repair and maintenance of all offroad and site vehicles and equipment. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Diesel Technology. He has over 33 years of experience in his field. He and his wife, Misty, have 2 adult children, Zach and Rachel. Doug enjoys spending his free time camping, hunting, and spending time with his family. He serves as a deacon and Commander of Awanas at his church, New Life Baptist.
Mary McElmurray
HR Manager
Mary joined the Collins Hammett team in 2024, coming with administrative and organizational skills to support our team in our value-oriented company goals. With an HR focus at Collins Hammett, Mary fosters building collaborative teams for employees to experience meaningful and practical ways of our company’s purpose: Positively impacting lives from the ground up.
She has a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University, and over 15 years of business experience.
Mary enjoys spending time with her family and staying connected with friends near and far.
Amanda Thomas
Administrative Assistant
Amanda became part of the Collins Hammett team in 2025. She brings a broad background working for specialty contractors with history in Operations Management, HR and Administrative work. With this background she was able to come join our team and assist all departments seamlessly. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and dogs. A few of her favorite things include Mountain Adventures, Baking, Vinyl Records, & All things Fall.
